Year 6 interviews

14 March 2016

Name: Mya

Next school: Sacred Heart Catholic School

How did you find the 11+?

I found it nerve-wracking but worth it because I got into a great school which I think I am going to enjoy for the next six years.

What has been your favourite subject at Parsons Green Prep and why?

Art, because I allow myself to be creative with my work instead of writing down an answer. I am making African patterned cushions with tassels at the moment and really enjoying it.

What after-school club or activity have you enjoyed the most?

The ski trip this year as I learned a lot there. At the beginning I had no idea how to ski and at the end I was in the intermediate group and doing parallel turns and a big race.

What has been your greatest achievement here?

Becoming vice-house captain of Nightingale because I felt really honoured by that. The younger children can come to me for help if they have a problem.

What will you miss most?

My friends and the friendly teachers.

What’s your favourite memory of Parsons Green Prep?

Finally winning the house cup in Year 4. Our house had the most house points out of all four houses for being the best behaved.

How do you feel about going to your new school?

I feel nervous and excited about going but hopeful that I might make some very good friends there.

What are you most looking forward to at your new school?

Learning to cook as my dad is a chef.

What would you like to do professionally?

I would like to be a marine archaeologist, to see all the amazing wildlife and sunken treasure. This might give me a few ideas for stories, so maybe I can be an author as well.
