Year 6 interviews

18 March 2016

This morning we speak with Sarah who is going to Putney High School.

How did you find the 11+?

At first I felt really good about it because everyone supported me and I knew what was coming. I also had lots of extra tutoring to help me.

What has been your favourite subject at Parsons Green Prep and why?

I really like it when Miss Helen teaches Topic because she is really enthusiastic about it and it makes the lesson much more interesting. I really enjoyed learning about the Greeks because life really evolved from them.

What after-school club or activity have you enjoyed the most?

I have really enjoyed tennis and I also do extra tennis clubs outside school as well. It’s so cool how the game goes on and it’s very exciting to watch and to play.

What has been your greatest achievement here?

When I first came here I didn’t know any English. I normally spoke French and Arabic at home because I had just moved to London from Dubai. Now I really think that I have improved because of all the help and support that I have received from Miss Helen. She tutored me from Year 3 to Year 6.

What will you miss most?

I will really miss all the great memories that have been made here because it is a very happy and memorable place.

What’s your favourite memory of Parsons Green Prep?

My favourite memory would have to be the ski trip because it was such a great experience flying with my friends. There was great teamwork and we all helped each other. Each night in the girl’s cabin we would tell each other stories and they were really funny. Year 5 were so annoyed with us because we kept on laughing.

How do you feel about going to your new school?

I feel a little bit nervous but most of all I feel prepared because I am going to have an orientation day. This is going prepare me for what will happen on a real school day.

What are you most looking forward to at your new school?

Meeting new people and experiencing new subjects. We are going to learn physics and chemistry and all the other things in secondary school and I am really excited about that.

What would you like to do professionally?

I would like to be a surgeon because I would like to help people. If I don’t become a surgeon I will become a doctor or a nurse or even a vet. Just something that will help people and their pets.
