The focus this term in our chess programme has been on gaining position on the board for tactical advantage. All the clubs have performed well. A number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Carlsens have been won and – for the very first time – Mr Viv, our chess teacher, has awarded a Chess Magnus. This is the highest chess award and it went to Kyle (Year 6) for excellent all-around play, understanding Algebraic Notation, tactics, positioning and good sportsmanship. Well done Kyle!
