Today in our leavers’ Q&A we catch up with Emi and find out how much she enjoyed the school ski trip and why she wants to be a fashion designer.
Next school: The Harrodian
How did you find the 11+?
It wasn’t as scary as it seems. Then again, it is a lot of preparing.
What has been your favourite subject at Parsons Green Prep and why?
I love computing because we do so much like Scratch and Python. In Creative Coders club we used Raspberry Pi to make the computer work. It was really fun and I got to work with my friends. There is so much you can do with it.
What after-school club or activity have you enjoyed the most?
I love STEM club because every week we do something different. We made a structure which could hold a weight and whichever one could hold the most weight won. Our team won.
What has been your greatest achievement here?
Passing my 11+ because afterwards Brendan and I both got into the Harrodian and we had two big celebrations. We had one in Meribel as we found out when we were skiing and one at home in London with all our friends and family. My Mum bought a massive cake which said ‘11+ is over!’.
What will you miss most?
I will miss getting to play with all the little kids. In Year 3 me and my friend would go and read to the younger children every break.
What’s your favourite memory of Parsons Green Prep?
The ski trip. Everyone got to try a new activity on the slopes after four hours of ski school. We tried sledging, bowling (which our team has won every year), we went to a big aqua park with loads of slides, and had a movie night which was really fun. We watched Swallows and Amazons.
How do you feel about going to your new school?
Really excited because my sister goes there and she had told me so many fun things about it.
What are you most looking forward to at your new school?
I can’t wait to meet new friends and try out the 3D printing. Every year you can make something different. This year they made lamps. Next year they are thinking of making video cameras. I also can’t wait to try out all the sports like hockey, netball and rugby.
What would you like to do professionally?
I want to be a fashion designer. Because they get to use what they feel to design an outfit and they get to do whatever and be really creative or messy about things.
