Today for our Year 6 leaver’s interview we speak with Abi, discovering the legend of Sir Snootypants and why choir is her favourite after-school club.
Next school: Wimbledon High School
How did you find the 11+?
It was a little bit stressful but I got a lot of support from my teachers, friends and family. So it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be.
What has been your favourite subject at Parsons Green Prep and why?
I like English because I enjoy making up stories and imagining different things. And I like making my stories funny. I wrote one about the legend of Sir Snootypants, who went off to fight a dragon that lived in a gingerbread cave. He ended up falling in love with the dragon.
What after-school club or activity have you enjoyed the most?
I like choir because I enjoy singing as a group. I really enjoyed the choir trip to the Royal Academy of Music last Friday and also singing to the elderly people at the old people’s home in the autumn term.
What has been your greatest achievement here?
I have become more confident because when I used to be on stage I could barely say my lines and used to hide behind the curtains or if I was wearing ears I would pull them down over my eyes. But now I am less frightened of being on stage.
What will you miss most?
Probably how it’s so small so you can easily get to know everybody. I will miss all my teachers and friends.
What’s your favourite memory of Parsons Green Prep?
Playing with my friend Izzy at school, who is now in Australia. And also playing Crazy Grandmas with my friend Hazel in Year 6 (it’s when we are all ladies and we run around and do crazy things).
How do you feel about going to your new school?
Nervous and excited because it is a completely new environment and place with lots of new people and subjects.
What are you most looking forward to at your new school?
Getting to know new people and finding out about new subjects.
What would you like to do professionally?
I would like to be a vet because I like looking after animals. My favourite animal is a dog because they are really loyal and they usually each have a different personality. I have a rabbit called Benji and a dog called Henry at home.
