Today is the last of our Year 6 leavers’ interviews. It’s been great fun getting to hear the children’s views on everything from the 11+ to what they will miss most at Parsons Green Prep. In our final Q&A, we speak with Will and find out about Young Engineers club and why he wants to be a marine biologist.
Next school: Ibstock Place School
How did you find the 11+?
I found the preparation quite quick and then it was over very quickly but then I was very nervous as well.
What has been your favourite subject at Parsons Green Prep and why?
I find science the most interesting because everything I do is new and exciting. I like learning about living things, like animals.
What after-school club or activity have you enjoyed the most?
Young Engineers, because I am always building new stuff and it kind of tells you how things work as well and everything behind it.
What has been your greatest achievement here?
Passing the 11+ and getting into Ibstock Place.
What will you miss most?
My friends because I have been with them such a long time. To see them go is quite sad.
What’s your favourite memory of Parsons Green Prep?
Sports Day when me and Brendan were in a race and Brendan tripped over a bit at the end and that made us joint first at the finish line. It was quite funny how something that wouldn’t be a good thing ended up being very good.
How do you feel about going to your new school?
Excited but also nervous as the same time. I am excited to meet new people but nervous about nobody wanting to be my friend or if I get lost.
What are you most looking forward to at your new school?
The new facilities and how they will probably be a lot bigger and I will be able to experience new things and sports.
What would you like to do professionally?
My first choice would probably be a footballer for Chelsea but I would also like to become a marine biologist. All the things they do with animals are so interesting.
