Year Five recently completed their STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) challenge to plan, design, build and evaluate their own glider. The aim was to build a model that was both strong and able to travel as far as possible. After researching key features, the children experimented with different materials, drew detailed designs using their DT skills and, after discussing how to make it a fair test, the gliders were launched into the air. All of the models worked well but the children discussed how they could adapt their design to make it even more aerodynamic. Well done Year 5!
