The whole school loved fundraising for Doorstep Library over the last academic year. This local charity organises teams of volunteers to visit the same five families at home every week with rucksacks full of stories. Operating in some of the most disadvantaged areas of London, volunteers share their love of reading with children under the age of 11. The charity has two longstanding projects nearby, one in Parsons Green and one in Fulham Broadway.
We’ve had some fantastic fundraising efforts, from Silly Hat Day to a whole host of excellent performances at the talent show. Director of Doorstep Library Katie Bareham said: “We are so grateful to be supported by everyone at Parsons Green Prep School. All of our team are so impressed with the creativity that goes into the school’s fundraising. Without the support of local partners like PGP, Doorstep Library wouldn’t be able to bring the joy of a weekly visit to families who often experience so many barriers to enjoying a story together.”
A huge well done to everyone who has taken part! To find out more about Doorstep Library, you can visit their website here.
