Years 5 and 6 explore the arctic

12 May 2020

On Friday 1 May Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic and highly educational discussion with arctic explorer Alex Hibbert. Alex provided a personal recount of his famous arctic adventure he completed a a number of years ago. This expedition set the world record for polar travel by skiing further on an unsupported arctic journey than anyone in history. The children had many questions for him at the end of his presentation and the Year 6 children drew many parallels and similarities with Alex’s journey and with the famous antarctic explorer, Robert Falcon Scott, whom they investigated afterwards.
