Year 1 were all aboard the replica of Sir Francis Drake's The Golden Hinde on a recent school trip. We stepped into the shoes of the scurvy seadogs and went back in time to discover how they lived and what it was like to sail the Seven Seas. Year 6 explores the British Museum

Year 6 went to investigate the people of Benin, or the Edo civilisation as it is also known, at the British Museum. We learnt many things about them including how they used bronze, traded and bartered from the Portuguese, to create wonderful reliefs and plaques. We also discovered that they regarded leopards very highly and used them in ceremonial processions. Afterwards we breezed through many other civilisations such as the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians and even had enough time to see a head from Easter Island. A wonderful trip.
