In the last of our outdoors posts this week, Year 6 travelled by bus and boat to the Isle of Wight two weeks ago. We were warmly welcomed by the staff at the United Kingdom Sailing Academy (UKSA). They gave us our wetsuits for the week and we got stuck in. We went paddle boarding, kayaking, keeling on sailing boats and windsurfing, to name a few activities during the week. We were really lucky with the weather and soaked up the sunshine on the water. We also took part in scavenger hunts, crabbing on the pontoon, survival skills in the pool and exploring Cowes. One of our highlights was the ice cream van visit – we ate our ice cream on the pontoon just before heading off to archery. We really enjoyed taking part in all the activities offered and loved spending time with our friends. We made lots of special memories and were happily exhausted upon our return to school.
