Pastoral care is a co-pillar with academic achievement at PGP. Every child’s welfare is important to us and we aim to provide everyone with a happy and secure environment in which to learn and develop. Children are taught the value of good manners and mutual respect from the moment they arrive; they are kind and supportive to each other.
Teachers have primary responsibility for the children in their class, both as individuals and as a group. Children are also aware of the many other adults they can go to if they need to, from the heads of Key Stage to the kitchen assistants to the Deputy Head. The structure of our school allows children to make good friends across the classes and be known to all full-time teachers and assistants.
Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and we have a clear Anti-Bullying policy (click here to read it). In the unlikely event that bullying does occur, all children should feel able to tell an adult at school and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.
