We would like to congratulate our Year 6 children on their excellent 11+ results. Although this is an unusually small year group, they achieved two scholarships to Francis Holland as well as accepting places at Godolphin and Latymer, the Harrodian, Ibstock Place, Whitgift and Hampton School.
Our Work of the Week comes from Year 2. The children have been learning about the circus in Creative Learning. They have explored when the circus began and how it transformed over time. In art they planned, designed and made wonderful circus act toys.
On Friday our U11 girls’ football squad participated in a festival at Wandsworth Park to celebrate girls football. It was a very well attended event, although Storm Gareth was in full force in the most challenging conditions we have faced.
Professional flautist Miss Lesley, her ten pupils and flute ensemble performed during assembly last Friday. The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed listening to the different sounds of the flute and recorder and were wowed by the skill of Miss Lesley.
It was a great day for sport at Parsons Green Prep yesterday. Claires Court in Maidenhead held the ISA under-11 five-a-side regional football tournament. There were 24 schools battling for a place in the national finals at St George’s on 3 May.
A highlight for Year 6, Miss Michelle and Miss Nora last week was their trip to the Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon. They were greeted by a local monk who explained the history of Buddhism, using the intricate paintings inside the temple as a visual guide.
Parsons Green Prep has been busy celebrating its very own Maths Day. We kicked off with a Maths Bee competition in the hall, with all contestants showing excellent mental maths skills. This was followed by lots of exciting maths activities in the classrooms.
