Prep School Life

Every school day is different Parsons Green Prep. Starting at 8 or 8.30am depending on what they are doing, the children may be playing a sport, competing at chess or doing exam practice if they have the 11+ coming up. Many children take part in an after-school club, ranging from baking to yoga.

Pastoral care is a co-pillar with academic achievement at PGP. Every child’s welfare is important to us and we aim to provide everyone with a happy and secure environment in which to learn and develop. Teachers have primary responsibility for the children in their class, both as individuals and as a group. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and we have a clear Anti-Bullying policy.

Regarding the curriculum, we believe that how a child learns is as important as what a child learns. Our teaching techniques reflect the latest pedagogical research. We teach from whole to parts, simple to complex and concrete to abstract. For new pupils that start within the academic year, the teacher will quickly establish what point these children have reached in their learning.

Congratulations to Year 6 on their outstanding 11+ results

One child secured a scholarship to Putney High and another an Offer with Distinction to Thomas’s Battersea.

The 17 children achieved 50 offers to some of the best secondary schools in London and beyond, including Godolphin & Latymer, Frances Holland and Emanuel.
