The U11 boys football team travelled to Claires Court Junior Boys School recently to compete in this year’s ISA London West U11 five-a-side football tournament. The boys did extremely well and showed good sportsmanship throughout. They started off the tournament playing Waverley House. A close match resulted in a 1-0 defeat after PGP failed to take their chances in front of goal, with some excellent saves from the opposition goalkeeper.
The team bounced back in their next fixture to beat Eaton Square School 2-0, producing the best performance of the season so far. In the final game of the group, PGP showed lots of resilience after going 1-0 down to Heathfield House to find the equaliser at the end. This resulted in PGP coming second in their group and meant that they had qualified for the quarter-finals of the cup competition.
PGP were knocked out of the competition by the hosts, Claires Court Boys School, but produced another great performance against tough opposition. Well done to all the boys for their efforts. Reaching the last eight of the ISA London West region is an excellent achievement.Categories: General news
