Great art

Miss Alison wanted to flag some super artwork pupils in Years 3 to 6 have created recently. Pictured are four pieces: Unique Cake by Ayesha, The World of Nature by Niam, The Lighthouse by Caterina and Picnic by Soyool. Well done everyone!

Wellbeing and high achievement in the press

Country & Town House magazine caught up with our Head, Dr Pamela Edmonds, on wellbeing and high achievement at Parsons Green Prep. You can read the article here.

New prospectus now live

We are thrilled to launch our new prospectus on our website. It covers everything from STEAM to where our house names and badges came from, sports, after-school clubs and music and performing arts. You can read it here.

Year 1 celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s birthday

Year 1 celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s birthday on 8 May by considering his passions. Pupils worked in pairs to place Sir David’s accomplishments in a diamond nine from most to least important. The pairs then presented their justifications to the rest of the class. Caring for the world and informing others about climate change were popular choices. Happy Birthday Sir David!

Year 3 residential at Woodrow High House

Year 3 had a fantastic time on residential at Woodrow High House. It was three days packed full of fun, laughter and adventure. It was so great to see them pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and working together on team-building exercises.

Year 4’s STEAM lessons

Year 4’s STEAM lessons have introduced hydraulic systems and Pascal’s Law, where the children have crafted their own machine using scientific knowledge of the different states of matter. Great work!

Art gives us butterflies

There has been some lovely art going on at PGP. Year 1 created these butterflies for an ISA Schools competition using filter paper and inks. Year 6 made wonderful batik cushions, inspired by Indian art and culture, using wax to outline some of their patterns. The wax acts as a resist so that when the rest of the design is painted, the wax is then removed to leave areas of white cloth.
