Our charities for the year
The pupils in our four houses have now chosen the charities they want to raise funds for this year. First up we have Shackleton House, who chose Doorstep Library. Doorstep Library aims to bring the magic of books and the enjoyment of reading directly into the homes of families who need their support. Shackleton’s event ideas include organising a book swap and a second-hand book sale.
Attenborough House have chosen dogs and cats organisation Mayhew. The children will raise money to support Mayhew through participation in PGP’s annual (and brilliant) Talent Show. We are looking forward to it already.
Williams House have chosen West London Action for Children. WLAC promotes the wellbeing of children, their families and carers to achieve positive change in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea. The children will raise funds through participation in a PGP multi-sports challenge. Go Williams.
Last but not least we have Earhart House, who have chosen Fulham Good Neighbours, which supports older and disabled people in their homes, gardens, community, community centre and online. It’s close to our hearts as it’s our part of London and we are very excited to see what Earhart plans to do to raise funds for this great cause.
Outstanding Early Years report
In November 2024 Parsons Green Prep welcomed the Early Years Advisor from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for a routine Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) quality assurance visit. The whole school is delighted with the resulting report. You can access it here. Congratulations to our Reception team.
The Reception Nativity
The Reception children performed amazingly in their Nativity. Through acting, song and dance Panda Class told the story. The community here at Parsons Green Prep wholeheartedly enjoyed this celebration. Well done everyone. You can read more about early years at Parsons Green Prep here.
Christmas Carols Concert
The musical highlight of last term was preparing for our Christmas Carols Concert, which took place on Monday 9 December at St Dionis. All pupils worked tirelessly to learn a beautiful selection of carols and seasonal pieces. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and dedication to their music have been genuinely inspiring and it was great to see their hard work come to life in this memorable and heartwarming celebration.
The end-of-term newsletter
And that’s a wrap – what a busy and brilliant Autumn term. Our end-of-term newsletter is now live on the website here. From achievements in the classroom and on the pitch to STEAM and which charities the school will be supporting this academic year, it’s packed with news from around Parsons Green Prep. Pour yourself a coffee and have a read.
