The French Café and thrills at Chessington

Posted: 29th September 2025

The French Café

The French Café was open once again at Parsons Green Prep, with pupils practising their French and celebrating all things blue, white and red with singing, pastries, juice and the odd beret. What a great day – many thanks to our excellent Advanced French Programme teachers, Miss Claude and Miss Victoria, and other staff members for making it happen. You can read about our Advanced French programme here.

Year 6 at Chessington

Year 6 enjoyed an unforgettable day at Chessington World of Adventures, a well-deserved reward for their incredible hard work and perseverance during the 11+ exams. While the trip was all about fun and celebration, it also connected cleverly to their recent ‘Theme Park Maths’ topic. The pupils experienced the excitement of roller coasters, explored the park’s many attractions and enjoyed the thrill of a day out together. The sun was shining, the screams were loud and the smiles were even bigger – what a way to mark their achievements!

Year 3 certificates

In Year 3 we celebrated respect in a special way. Every pupil picked a classmate’s name and created a personalised certificate highlighting what makes them amazing. It was a heartwarming activity that reminded us how important it is to value ourselves and others. Kindness, creativity and confidence were shining all around. Read about pastoral care at PGP here.

Music assembly

Our music assembly was a fantastic showcase of talent. Pupils who take flute and recorder lessons with Miss Lesley and those in singing lessons with Miss Jane performed beautifully. From sweet melodies to confident vocals, we’re so proud of their hard work and progress. Huge thanks to our wonderful music teachers.

The Isle of Wight

The Year 6 trip to the Isle of Wight was an unforgettable adventure filled with excitement and learning. The children took part in a range of water sports at the UKSA, including sailing, kayaking, and other thrilling activities on the water. The weather was absolutely brilliant throughout the trip, with sunny skies adding to the fun and energy of each day. Not only did everyone have a fantastic time, but the experience also helped the children build confidence, teamwork, and new skills. It was a truly enriching trip that left lasting memories and a sense of achievement for all involved.
