Earlier this term Parsons Green Prep was delighted to host its fourth annual Senior Schools Fair, welcoming PGP families alongside admissions teams and headteachers from leading London senior schools. The event was a hive of activity, with our school hall transformed into a dynamic space for conversation, exploration and guidance.
Parents had the opportunity to attend a presentation on the 11+ process, delivered by the Deputy Head, Miss Beth, and the Head, Dr Edmonds, offering guidance on the senior school examination and entrance process for London day schools. Senior school representatives generously shared insights into what makes their institutions unique – often exceeding the suggested 30-second introduction, much to everyone’s benefit. These extended conversations provided a deeper understanding not only for our families but also for our dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to prepare pupils for the next stage of their educational journey.
It was a particular pleasure to welcome back former pupils and hear about their successful transitions to highly selective schools. Their reflections on their experiences, along with the thoughtful questions posed to the staff of senior schools by our current pupils, highlighted the curiosity and ambition that define the PGP community. These moments served as a powerful testament to PGP’s exceptional 11+ results in 2024–2025 – our strongest outcomes to date.
Seventeen schools exhibited at the fair, representing a broad spectrum of educational pathways to 11–18 schools. These included single-sex and co-educational institutions, academically selective and specialist schools, holistic approaches and those offering both UK and international curricula. The schools were:
- Burlington House
- Emanuel
- Francis Holland Sloane Square
- Godolphin & Latymer
- Halcyon
- Hampton School (HMC)
- Harrodian School
- Ibstock Place School (HMC)
- Kensington Park School
- Kew House
- Marymount London School (GSA)
- More House School
- Putney High School
- Radnor House
- Queen’s Gate School
- St James Senior Girls School
- St Paul’s Girls
- Westminster Under school
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire school community for supporting this event, to the schools that exhibited, to the PGP staff for their unwavering enthusiasm and to Chef Elena and her team for the exceptional buffet that added a warm and welcoming touch to the evening.
