Chelsea Foundation football training
A brand new and very exciting addition to the PE/sports clubs for spring 2016, Chelsea Football Club’s Foundation is running a 10-week curriculum programme with one of their coaches visiting Parsons Green Prep. We are incredibly lucky to secure this and for keen football players this is not to be missed. On Monday afternoons, as part of the curriculum a coach will teach multisport to Years 1 and 2, which will involve hand-eye coordination and evasion games. On Mondays after school there will be a football club for Years 1 and 2. On Thursdays there will be an after-school football club for Years 3 to 6. Parents should sign up for the club in the normal way but be quick – this is going to be very popular. More information on the Foundation can be found at www.chelseafc.com/the-club/foundation.html.
This club is offered to children from Reception to Year 2. It provides children with the opportunity to enjoy fun football sessions using our new facilities. These sessions are designed for the children to learn basic skills and techniques and hopefully develop a love of the sport. We offer small-sided games, allowing everyone the chance to get involved and have fun. As the children move up through the school, they are able to carry this early enthusiasm into more competitive sporting fixtures.
Morning football training
We offer morning football sessions for Years 2 to 6. This club is designed for children chosen for the school football squads to improve and work on their teamwork, core skills (trapping the ball, passing and dribbling) and techniques. Children take full advantage of our on-site sports facilities, participating in drills and games on our Astroturf football pitch. These sessions build on skills developed in curriculum PE lessons, helping the children to achieve sporting success in competition while proudly representing the school.
