Music Express

The Music Express club offers enjoyable and dynamic sessions for Reception children. It teaches them the basic foundations of music such as rhythm, sound and melody. We experiment with a range of percussion instruments and listen to different music from around the world. The sessions include action songs, circle songs, finger rhymes and story songs. There is also the opportunity to explore movement and dance using props such as ribbons, pompoms and scarves. Some weeks are making sessions in which the children create their own instruments including shakers, drums and pipes. Imagination and enjoyment encourage confidence and a love of music, and at the end of each term the children are rewarded with a music certificate and a small musical surprise.
