Music in the Spring term

In the spring term our pupils worked hard in music with Miss Emma. They learned and practised songs for the summer concert, showcasing their fantastic singing skills. In Friday music lessons they focused on music theory, building their understanding of notes and rhythms. A special achievement goes to our Year 2 students, who have been progressing with Level 2 recorders – several of them even achieved a merit level! Well done to all our young musicians.

The chicks have arrived

It has been a very exciting time in Reception as we have had our delivery of the chicks from the Happy Chick Company. This is an ethical company that rehomes all of the chicks with people that have similar values for animal welfare. Some take just a few chicks for their garden/allotment, while others take many and have a few acres of land to accommodate them.

The children were so lucky to get to witness them hatching. The children learned how to care for them, by supporting the teachers in feeding them and keeping them clean. They can’t wait to hold them and are all so excited for a little cuddle.

The House Photography Competition

Thank you to all our aspiring photographers at Parsons Green Prep, who recently got snapping for the House Photography Competition. This year’s theme was ‘Close-up’ and once again the standard was very high, which made judging quite a challenge.

Congratulations to our four winners and the two pupils who were highly commended:

1st – Sebastian (Y4) Jellyfish
2nd – Aurelie (Y3) Peacock
3rd – Lilian (Y2) Blue Anemone
4th – James (Y3) Tulip
Highly commended – Mia (Y1) Watchstrap
Highly commended – Soyee (Y4) Red Flower

Well done to everyone who took part and keep taking those photos.

Cross-country team

The Parsons Green Prep Cross-country team travelled to St James School to compete in their cross-country run. Year 3 and Year 4 ran a distance of 1.5km and Year 5 and Year 6 ran a distance of 1.8km. Well done all our runners – they ran an excellent race and did the school proud. Congratulations to the pupil who came 4th in his race and many thanks to St James School for hosting us.

The Easter Bonnet Parade

Our Easter Bonnet Parade (with sustainability as the theme) and Easter Egg Hunt was great fun and a brilliant way of bringing the term to a close. Wishing all our children, parents, staff and colleagues in education a lovely, restful Easter break and we look forward to the Summer term. More photos at https://www.facebook.com/ParsonsGreenPrep.
