International Day
At Parsons Green Prep we celebrate every pupil, no matter where we come from. International Day was a joyful reflection of our diverse community, with children proudly wearing traditional outfits, sharing their cultures and creating beautiful memories together. It was a day of unity, pride, and belonging for all.
More than just points: how House life shapes PGP
A House system is a well-established tradition in prep schools and since Harry Potter introduced readers to the Houses of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor at Hogwarts, there has been a growing awareness of the value such a system brings to schools. Among its many benefits are the opportunities it provides for children to interact with both younger and older peers during House events, as well as the sense of friendly competition and collegiality it fosters.
Children also develop essential leadership and teamwork skills through shared endeavours. The strong sense of belonging and identity they form with their Houses (and with the values embodied by their chosen figures of inspiration, Attenborough, Earhart, Shackleton, and Williams) encourages an understanding of social responsibility.
Each House event, whether it’s the end-of-term sports day, weekly House points, or the annual House charity fundraising initiative, brings a buzz of excitement and a touch of healthy anticipation as the date approaches. PGP’s House system is an integral part of the school’s vibrant culture and ethos and we eagerly look forward to seeing the children champion their Houses at Sports Day and the Attenborough House Talent Show.
Number Day 2025
PGP’s Number Day was a brilliant celebration of all things mathematical across the school. It was a fantastic day filled with energy, teamwork and curiosity. In Pre-Prep children took part in fun classroom shape hunts and learnt catchy songs to help remember key mathematical concepts. They enjoyed a range of games that tested their knowledge of addition, times tables, odd and even numbers and comparing quantities using more or less than.
Over in Prep, pupils rose to the challenge of solving mysterious clues in exciting escape room-style activities, working collaboratively to crack problems using their reasoning skills. Some also took part in a fast-paced quiz inspired by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, putting their maths knowledge to the test. The enthusiasm for maths was clear to see, with brilliant number-themed costumes, colourful outfits and smiles all round. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so enjoyable!
