We are an independent prep school for boys and girls from Reception to Year 6. Known to our families as PGP, our building and grounds are in the heart of Fulham, a stone’s throw from Parsons Green.
We are a truly independent school – not part of any larger group and not constrained in how or what our children learn. Our teaching takes the best bits of the National Curriculum and supplements it with the knowledge and passions of our dedicated teachers. We teach not just for the inevitable exams at the end, but for the journey itself. The journey includes not only the non-examined subjects such as STEM and the humanities, but also drama, music and sport; they are all key parts of the PGP experience and we encourage our children to have a go at all of them at some stage.
Running through the academic and extra-curricular programme is the pastoral care we offer. We are a sufficiently small school for everyone to know one another well and for staff and children to see each other several times every day. Our assemblies and PSHE programme are more formal occasions to discuss and deal with any issues relevant to young children. Kindness and mutual respect are PGP watchwords and a happy and positive atmosphere permeates the school.
We are proud of our village school atmosphere and our children thrive in the amazing space we can offer them and on the attention we can give them. They go on to some of the best schools in London (and further afield), armed with rock-solid academic foundations, an appreciation of the wonderful world around them and very happy memories. Choosing a school is a tricky process and will involve consideration of many factors. The most important one is probably the hardest one to describe on paper. It is ‘will my child be happy here?’ If he or she does not look forward to coming to school every day then our wonderful teaching and facilities will be for nothing. We therefore put pupil well-being above everything else and I have yet to meet a child who doesn’t love coming to PGP every day.
We would love to show you the school and its pupils whenever it suits you. We hope you will call Admissions and arrange a visit soon.
